MPP Arnott congratulates school in Waterloo-Wellington for being selected to improve student learning across Ontario

MPP Ted Arnott is congratulating the staff, parents and students of Maryborough Public School in Mapleton Township for being selected to participate in the Provincial Government's Schools on the Move: Lighthouse Program Initiative.

“Everyone associated with Maryborough Public School deserves credit for this extraordinary accomplishment. They have set such an excellent example for student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics, that the Provincial Government wants to share their success stories with other schools in Ontario ,” Mr. Arnott said.

Part of the Upper Grand District School Board, Maryborough Public School was selected for Phase 2 of the Program by the Provincial Government because of their accomplishments in student achievement measured over a three-year period. Throughout the 2007/08 school year, teachers from the school may have the opportunity to share the methods they've developed with other educators and schools in Ontario.
