New multi-use facility to include
various sports and community activities

Waterloo-Wellington MPP Ted Arnott is congratulating the Township of Wilmot for their success in obtaining a $4 million Provincial grant to build a new multi-use recreation facility (MURF).

“This is great news, and I want to congratulate Mayor Wayne Roth, Councils past and present, and the Staff of the Township of Wilmot for their success in obtaining Provincial funding for these exciting new recreational facilities,” Mr. Arnott said.

“They deserve additional credit for looking ahead to meet future needs and finding an innovative way to meet a good number of these needs at one facility,” he added. “Thanks should also be extended to the many community volunteers who’ve helped move this forward.”

The funding was announced by the Hon. Jim Watson, Minister of Health Promotion on January 15th. Mr. Arnott has expressed strong support for the Township of Wilmot’s project, and he repeatedly encouraged the Government to help fund it.
