MPP
Arnott congratulates North Wellington Health Care
for funding commitment to new kidney dialysis
services for patients
Waterloo-Wellington MPP Ted Arnott has expressed
his appreciation to the people who provide health
care services at North Wellington Health Care
for their success in obtaining a funding commitment
from the Provincial Government for a dialysis
unit. He acknowledged their progress on January
13th.
“Our
congratulations go out to the North Wellington
Health Care Corporation Board and to the two hospital
foundations. The health care providers at Palmerston
and District Hospital and Louise Marshall Hospital
in Mount Forest all deserve credit for this step
forward. All of the staff, the nurses, doctors,
clerical, food preparation staff, custodians and
management should be proud of their excellence
in public service,” said Mr. Arnott.
“This
means that health care will continue to improve
for Waterloo-Wellington and the surrounding area
as we move towards treating kidney patients closer
to home. I appreciate the fact that the Government
has responded positively to the outstanding work
that has been done on the health care front in
some of our local communities,” he added. “We
need to continue to advocate for better services
in the future.”
The
dialysis unit is to be operated as a satellite
of the Grand River Hospital. The announcement
includes plans for 6 new dialysis stations in
northern Wellington County. Funding announced
for the project is reported to be $593,000.
